In 2014 my wife and I took up temporary residence in Washington Heights while our apartment was being renovated. We discovered an amazing community of orthodox Jews and Dominicans living blocks from each other. Before we moved I bought my first portable watercolor set from Pearl Paint on Canal Street and recorded what I saw in sketchbooks. This is my Washington Heights diary.
