ABOUT THIS WEBSITE
My name is Jeff Levine and I am a medical doctor living and working in Manhattan. Medicine is my bread and Art is my butter. Painting and sketching have carried me through the years of madness in this metropolis where I live, and cushioned me from the endless parade of human troubles I see in my medical practice. I’ve learned at the Art Students League and taught myself, and still have a ways to go. In my art I’ve learned that the journey is just as important as the product, if not more so.
Some words from my role models:
William Carlos Williams (1883-1963)
“Medicine is my legal wife, literature my mistress. When I’m bored with one I spend the night with the other. This is irregular but at least not monotonous, and neither suffers from my infidelity. If I did not practice medicine, I could not devote my freedom of mind and my stray thoughts to literature.”
Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1904)
