In the Fall of 2019 I attended the Red Rock Arts Festival in Moab, Utah where dozens of like-minded people enjoyed plein air painting in the spectacular desert landscape. I worked in both watercolor and oils, as well as my regular sketchbook, and took an extra excursion to Monument Valley. The Red Rocks, intense sunlight, low humidity, and stark shadows made for an incredible, inspiring journey.
